Treatment options for addiction
Addiction is a disease, not a lack of willpower or an unwillingness to quit. Our treatment programs are backed by the latest science and research. We’ll work with you and your loved ones to create a customized treatment plan based on the results of a thorough assessment, which includes both a physical exam and psychosocial exam.
The level of treatment you may need will depend on the severity of your substance-use disorder, whether you have additional medical or behavioral health conditions, and your level of support at home. Our addiction team will recommend one of three levels of treatment:
- Outpatient treatment
- Intensive Outpatient Program, a mix between outpatient and inpatient care
- Residential (inpatient) addiction treatment
Detoxification (also known as detox) and medication-assisted treatment both play an important role in addiction care at all levels. These treatments can help you deal with physical withdrawal symptoms when you stop using addictive substances.
