The classes are designed for people of all ages to participate in an Art Therapist guided class. A new project will be offered every week. Topics covered will focus on self-awareness, support systems, gratitude, and reframing negative thoughts.
NOTE: If no participants join the call/class within 20 minutes after the start time, the call/class will end.
To assist you in the virtual art therapy classes, you can print a template that relates to each week’s project here. Just click on the link below to view or print.
The classes will be held every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and every Thursday at 6 p.m.
August 5 and 6: Roll & Draw - (no template)
Supplies needed: paper, markers or pencils in Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple
Description: An exercise in letting go of expectations
August 12 and 13: Support System Universe
Supplies needed: template, markers or pencils, stickers (optional)
Description: A way to remind ourselves of the important people in our lives
August 19 and 20: Woven Thoughts - (no template)
Supplies needed: one plain paper and one patterned paper of same size, scissors, glue stick (optional)
Description: Creating a beautiful image from our thoughts
The materials you should have ready for the classes are:
- Paper- which may include any of the following: printer paper, drawing paper, old mail envelopes, paper bags, wrapping paper, etc.
- Colored pencils
- Glue / glue stick
- Magazine (to cut up for collage)
- Pages from an old book (I can provide text to be printed at home for found poetry project)
All of the projects will be completed using items you probably already have on hand. We do not expect you to make large purchases for supplies. The Art Therapist will be able to assist you with modifications to the project with the materials you have.
