Objectives of this course:

  1. Identify the factors that determine a critical care patient’s readiness for participation in rehabilitation 
  2. Identify when the patient’s clinical presentation or response to treatment indicates a need to modify or terminate treatment
  3. Describe the impact of early rehab for different patient populations
  4. Discuss strategies for inter-professional collaboration with the medical teams to advocate for and develop early rehabilitation in the critical care population 


This course is intended for Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Occupational Therapy students, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, and Physical Therapy students.

*No content from Day 1 (Foundational Courses for Acute Care Rehabilitation) or Day 2 (Foundational Courses for Critical Care Rehabilitation) will be repeated on Day 3. To review any of that content, please register for the full conference.

This course is approved by APTA Michigan for 7.5 CEUs, and qualifies for NBCOT CEUs. Please check with your state licensing body to determine if courses approved by APTA MI are eligible for CEUs in your state. This course provides live, synchronous CEUs (attendance will be taken).
