The purpose of this study is to examine the effect, good or bad, of photodynamic therapy (PDT) using porfimer sodium when combined with the standard commonly-used drugs (Gemcitabine/cisplatin) on you and your type of bile duct cancer to find out which is better.

- New diagnosis of perihilar cholangiocarcinoma for which surgery is not an option
- Have not yet started chemotherapy and be willing to have your chemotherapy at a Henry Ford facility
