Acute Respiratory Clinics focus on care of patients with COVID-19
Henry Ford Health System has transformed several outpatient medical centers into specialized Acute Respiratory Clinics (ARCs) to care only for patients with mild-to-moderate symptoms of COVID-19.
Only persons with a referral from a Henry Ford doctor can be seen at these ARCs, which offer COVID-19 testing, breathing treatments and other therapies to ease symptoms. Patients who are at high risk to develop complications from their symptoms receive COVID-19 care kits to take home, which include a pulse oximeter to measure blood oxygen levels. Nurses stay in contact with ARC patients by phone and refer patients for follow-up care, if needed.
Safety precautions in place
Patients at the ARC are seen by appointment only, helping to manage patient flow and eliminate lobby wait times. As at all Henry Ford facilities, we practice the highest level of safety for all through the use of mandatory mask wearing, social distancing and strict, frequent cleaning practices.
How to be seen at an Acute Respiratory Clinic
Following are various ways to get an appointment at an ARC clinic:
- Contact your Henry Ford doctor through MyChart or call their office phone to see if you should be seen in an ARC clinic.
- If you do not have a Henry Ford doctor, schedule a video visit on demand, 24/7, with a Henry Ford Primary Care doctor on call. They will determine if you need to be seen at an ARC clinic.
- Call the MyCare Advice Line, (844) 262-1949, and talk to a Henry Ford registered nurse who can tell you next steps.
