ArtBlock Space Request
The health and well-being of our community is our highest priority. And so, as a precautionary measure, all Henry Ford Health System sponsored community events are postponed. We also have placed restrictions on the use of our facilities – including Art Block.

ArtBlock is designed to promote creativity and community, it is a space to be inspired and learn. Green Living Science (GLS), ArtBlock’s programming partner, will offer youth and family recycling, art and science education throughout the year. Community groups, non-profits,Henry Ford departments, and others are invited to hold events and meetings in ArtBlock provided the following process is upheld and a request form is submitted and approved.
Henry Ford or Green Living Science staff will open and close the building and may be in the space for the duration of the event.
Requests are approved based on facility and staff availability.
ArtBlock Facility Policies
Reservation Requests: All groups must complete and submit the reservation request below. Requests will be reviewed on an on-going basis.
Set Up and Clean Up: The facility must be restored to the original condition at the end of the event. The organization using the space is responsible for set-up and clean-up: all furniture should be cleaned and returned to its original position, all items brought in and any garbage must be removed, floors and counters should be clean, doors locked, etc. Catering is the responsibility of the user organization. The requesting organization is responsible for all costs related to the event itself.
Furniture: In addition to the furniture in place throughout ArtBlock, 85 folding chairs, five 8-ft folding tables, and three 6-ft folding table are available for use. Please ensure tables and chairs are returned to their stored location.
Damages: Should any damages to the equipment, furniture, or building occur during the course of your event, you will be charged a damages fee. Should the building require cleaning or garbage removal after your event, you will be charged a cleaning fee.
Commercial/For-Profit Fees: A usage fee starting at $150 will be assessed for for-profit events and additional information, certifications, and payments may be needed.
Staffing: Your organization/department is responsible for fully staffing and remaining at ArtBlock for the duration of your event.
Audio-Visual: A screen, projector, and computer speakers are available; we hope to add WiFi in the near future.
Alcohol, Drugs, and Weapons: Alcohol use may be permissible with prior approval and liability safeguards in place. Documentation may be required. ArtBlock is a drug- and weapon-free zone.
