ArtBlock Space Request

ArtBlock is designed to promote creativity and community, it is a space to be inspired and learn.

ArtBlock is available for use by community groups, local residents and Henry Ford staff who agree to follow facility policies and COVID safety measures in place to sustain the health of our communities.

We welcome you to reach out with any questions or to take a tour of this unique space, which is available for events and meetings provided the following process is upheld and a request form is submitted and approved.

Henry Ford staff may be in the space for the duration of the event.

Requests are approved based on facility and staff availability.

Policy

Reservation Requests: All users of ArtBlock must complete and submit a Space Request Form, which can be found here: www.henryford.com/artblock. Requests will be reviewed on an on-going basis and you will be notified about its availability.

COVID-19 Safety Measures: Events should have a physical layout to allow social distancing. Attendees will sanitize the space before and after the event—sanitize all high-touch surfaces and objects, including door handles, counters and tabletops, and any equipment used. Attendees are encouraged to practice safe respiratory hygiene/cough etiquette principles by covering coughs and sneezes and keeping hands clean to help prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses like influenza and COVID-19. Attendees will follow CDC guidelines in place at the time of your event, regarding precautions and guidelines. Please practice safe handling of food, and when possible offer single serve set-ups such as box lunches and dinners. NOTE: Henry Ford strongly encourages attendees to be vaccinated to protect against infection. Users of ArtBlock will hold Henry Ford harmless.

Supplies: Trash bags, cleaning supplies, sponges, toilet paper and hand towels can be found in the marked supply cabinet.

Set Up and Clean Up: The facility must be restored to the original condition at the end of the event. Users of the space are responsible for set-up and clean-up: all furniture should be cleaned and returned to its original position and all items put away. All garbage must be disposed of in the dumpster located outside the building in the parking lot. Fresh garbage bags should be put into garbage cans for the next reservation. Floors and counters must be wiped clean, doors locked, etc.

No Food: (Starting in 2025) There is no food allowed in ArtBlock to ensure the space remains free of pests and messes. If food, spills, odors, or unsanitary messes from food is found in the space, the user could be subject to a cleaning fee and group removal from use of the space.

Furniture: In addition to the furniture in place throughout ArtBlock, there are numerous folding chairs, five 8-ft rectangular folding tables and three 6-ft rectangular folding tables available for use. Please ensure tables and chairs are returned to their stored location.

Damages: Should any damages to the equipment, furniture, or building occur during your event, you may be charged a damages fee.

Commercial/For-Profit Fees: A usage fee may be assessed for such events and additional information, certifications, and payments may be needed.

Staffing: Your organization/department is responsible for fully staffing and remaining at ArtBlock for the duration of your event.

Audio-Visual: There are some AV capabilities built into ArtBlock. The Wifi network is “ArtBlock” and the password, ‘artblock’. There is also a large portable screen and projector available for use.
Alcohol, Drugs, and Weapons: ArtBlock is an alcohol, drug, and weapon-free zone.
