Aaron Wootton brings a wealth of experience in information technology, including over 17 years in health care IT. He currently serves as Henry Ford Health System’s Vice President of IT over Physician Practice Alignment & HIE initiatives, while also overseeing the analytics and EDW teams. In addition, Mr. Wootton serves as the VP and CIO of the system’s Central Market, which includes Henry Ford Allegiance Health.
In his current role, he utilizes his expertise in systems and process design to align organizational strategy, financing, and operations with information technology that enables the business. Mr. Wootton has extensive experience optimizing EHR programs and partnering with providers in system adoption, as well as an advanced understanding of Clinically Integrated Networks and the application of information technology in furthering population health.
He joined Henry Ford Allegiance Health in 2012 as the director of Jackson Community Medical Record (JCMR), a Henry Ford Allegiance-owned organization that is a national leader in the development of community-wide electronic medical records. Previous positions include director of the Ann Arbor Health Information Exchange and manager of clinical informatics for Michigan Heart.
Mr. Wootton earned both a BA in Information Systems Management and an MBA from Cleary University. His professional memberships include the College of Health Information Management Executives, the Michigan Hospital Association’s Strategic Information Technology Committee, and the Michigan Health Information Network’s Operations and Advisory Council.

Denice Asbell has worked in healthcare for twenty-two years with a variety of administrator experiences in Finance, Contracting, Project Management, and Information Technology. The majority of Denice's career with HFHS has focused on partnering with outside employer groups and health care providers to build a robust and effective patient care experience, while strengthening HFHS's reach into the community.
Denice developed and remains responsible for the HFHS Community Connect program to build, deploy, and enhance Epic EMR for affiliated private practice providers. Her team is also responsible for the perpetual support of Epic—using private providers in the HFHS North and South regions.
Further focusing on community health engagement, Denice is charged with delivering population health tools to monitor and improve patient health care gaps. This work targets improved health indicators for patients beyond the HFHS patient base, while also supporting HFHS risk-bearing contracts.
Denice has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan and is also a certified Project Management Professional.
Kenneth W. Empey
General Counsel, Henry Ford Allegiance Health

Historically, Ken served as General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer for Allegiance Health and affiliated entities comprising the Allegiance Health system in Jackson, Michigan, having been with Allegiance since 1991 in a number of capacities, including Director of Risk Management, and Vice President for Legal Affairs, Quality & Risk Management, and as Corporate Compliance Officer. As Chief Legal Officer, his responsibilities included corporate governance and general business transactional work, legal and regulatory compliance, management of the system’s commercial and self-insurance programs, professional and general liability litigation and claims management, and advising Allegiance Health’s two licensed acute care hospitals on a variety of medical staff, credentialing, and risk management issues.
More recently, following the affiliation with Henry Ford Health System in 2016, Ken has continued his Henry Ford Allegiance Health General Counsel role, while also assuming the Deputy General Counsel role for the HFHS Central Market.
Ken has practiced in the healthcare field exclusively since 1984. Prior to starting his “in-house” role in 1989, he worked in private practice with a large healthcare law firm in Detroit, representing healthcare systems, hospitals, and individual practitioners. He is a 1984 cum laude graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Transition Advisor, Jackson Health Network
Mr. Hazen currently serves as Transition Advisor for Jackson Health Network (JHN), a clinically integrated network in Jackson, Michigan. The Network is a collaboration of healthcare providers, physicians and hospital, that recognize the need to transform both the delivery of healthcare as well as the financing of healthcare. We use the IHI Triple Aim concept, improving health outcomes, patient’s experience of care and impacting the cost of care, as our driving principle.
Mr. Hazen also serves as an advisor to Community Health Technology Network (CHTN), a community-wide electronic health record system affiliated with Henry Ford Health System.
Mr. Hazen has over 30 years experience in health care management. His principal recent focus has been providing short-term project assistance in executive management, financial and operational areas of leading health care entities. His work spans both for-profit and not-for-profit environments and his experience includes work at both start-up and turn around businesses. For twelve years, Wynn served as a member of executive health plan management teams.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Hazen held long-term positions in the finance and operations departments at General Electric and Healthsource. He has also been a member of the adjunct SPEA faculty at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis teaching coursework in Health Care Finance and Budgeting.
Wynn received a BS in Business Administration from Valparaiso University and his MBA from St. Francis College.
Therese M. Roe

Therese Roe is the director of Jackson Community Medical Record (JCMR), a Henry Ford Allegiance-owned organization that is a national leader in the development of community-wide electronic medical records. She has served in this role for the past 2 years. Since coming to JCMR in 2007, she has been involved in the implementation, support and rollout of the community record combining her clinical knowledge and informatics background to connect private physicians, employed physicians, and advanced practice providers to technology emphasizing the need for a longitudinal record using health information exchange. Therese recently accepted the director role for Health Information Exchange at HFHS as a natural expansion of her efforts within JCMR. Therese is a graduate of Madonna University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
In her early nursing career, Therese held management roles in inpatient and outpatient settings. She was instrumental in the creation of several behavioral health programs during that time. Clinical informatics is a passion for Therese, and she has been involved in the use of data and technology to improve a patient’s experience and create efficiencies in physician documentation for the past 19 years. She is a member of the ANIA (American Nursing Informatics Association) and enjoys sharing data with colleagues.

Jeanne Wymer has worked in healthcare for twenty-seven years with a variety of roles in IT Leadership, Project Management, Application Management, and Programming. Jeanne’s career focused on implementation of a community-wide electronic health record in 2005 with the creation of Jackson Community Medical Record. With a passion for improving the health of our local community, Community Health Technology Network expands on the groundwork established with Jackson Community Medical Record to grow into southeastern Michigan.
As the Director, Business Operations for Community Health Technology Network, Jeanne is responsible for the legal, financial, and outreach programs. Jeanne also prepared materials and presents to the CHTN Board of Trustees.
Jeanne developed and remains responsible for an IT Business Relationship Management team at Henry Ford Allegiance Health to improve the IT experience for all of our operational leaders. As the IT Site Director, Jeanne is responsible for high reliability IT within Henry Ford Allegiance Health.
Jeanne has a Bachelor of Science from Baker College.
