Letter from our Chief Nursing Officer

Dear Colleagues,

This past year was unlike any I ever imagined we would live through. As new challenges arose daily, the Henry Ford Hospital (HFH) Nursing team united to continue providing exceptional patient care. Throughout the challenges, many great things happened that deserve to be celebrated. Our 2019-2020 HFH Nursing Annual Report theme is, “Celebrating Nursing Excellence.”

I am pleased to feature the extraordinary work you all accomplished while fighting through the COVID-19 pandemic. Our major and historic achievement to celebrate is our first Magnet® designation on March 20, 2020! I am so proud of each of you and all your contributions to the exemplary department of Nursing at HFH! Thank you for showcasing our Nursing culture.

Throughout the 2019-2020 Nursing Annual Report, you will read HFH examples of each of the Magnet Components: Empirical Outcomes, Transformation Leadership, Structural Empowerment, Exemplary Professional Practice and New Knowledge, Innovation and Improvements. Additionally, you will learn about our Magnet® designation and our increased focus on the healing, recovery and well-being of Nursing.

I hope you enjoy reading about the exceptional Nursing care at HFH. With the foundation of our Professional Nurse Practice Model (PNPM), True North, our Mission, Vision and Values, we continue to strive towards excellence by providing safe, high quality care to each patient.
