Katherine Scher, RN, CCM, is the HFPN director of clinical integration. Her role is to develop and implement the clinical integration platform, which encompasses quality and efficiency performance measurement, physician engagement strategies and clinical interventions for specific patient populations. The goal is to attain higher quality and greater efficiency in care for HFPN patients. All of her 30 years of experience in the health care field are with Henry Ford Health System. Katherine received a bachelor’s degree in social work from Michigan State University and a nursing diploma from Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing.

Melissa Kurtz serves as the director of finance for the Henry Ford Physician Network (HFPN). In this role, she oversees the Network’s operational and capital budgets, assists in contract negotiation, and manages invoicing for the information technology solutions offered by the HFPN. She has more than 18 years of healthcare experience (14 of them with Health Alliance Plan (HAP) and Henry Ford), where she held leadership positions in hospital administration, support services, nursing finance and budget, and provider reimbursement. Melissa holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting information systems from Eastern Michigan University and is a certified medical coder.

Matt Hussmann is the manager of informatics for the HFPN. In his role, he works to compile, review and streamline data and validate information sent by physicians to Crimson. His goal is to ensure clear and accurate data to help physicians better understand and improve their performance. With more than eight years of professional experience in the health care informatics, Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Eastern Michigan University. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

With more than 25 years of experience with the Henry Ford Medical Group, Theresa’s positions have focused on physician recruitment, retention and credentialing, and improving physician satisfaction and engagement. Today, she is working to develop a value-based cadre of MSO services for private HFPN physicians. She collaborates with private physicians and office personnel to determine their needs, which drives the services provided. Theresa also develops educational forums for office managers. With a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, she is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Michigan, Dearborn.
Sheronde brings a wealth of healthcare experience to the HFPN, most recently working in community health with United Healthcare. She has experience as a physician networking coordinator and credentialing specialist, and also has extensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and CSHCS. Sheronde began her 20-year career in healthcare with the Henry Ford Health System and is excited to bring her knowledge and experience back to benefit HFHS.

Cyndy Nehr serves as the director of Communications for the HFPN. In her role, she is responsible for ongoing communications to all members of the HFPN and any material related to the Network. Cyndy has more than 25 years of experience in writing, with a background in newspapers (The Detroit News) and employee communications at Compuware Corporation. She also helped develop and manage a community-engagement health program for the Karmanos Cancer Institute, focusing on cancer prevention. Cyndy received her Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Wayne State University.
