Training Facilities
All clinical activities occur at Henry Ford Hospital, a 877 bed acute-care hospital that is affiliated with Wayne State University School of Medicine and outpatient clinics at satellite facilities. Fellows benefit from being exposed to a wide spectrum and large quantity of patients, as our hospital serves the metropolitan population of Detroit as well as the surrounding suburbs and parts of Canada. This provides an exceptional environment for learning because of the multiple populations we serve and the breadth of experience they provide. Henry Ford Hospital is internationally renowned for its undergraduate and graduate medical education programs in many of the medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties. It is also a major research center with an extensive program of clinical and basic research, the latter carried out in a large laboratory facility attached to the hospital and in a nearby off campus location.
All clinical supervision for in- and outpatient rotations and clinical encounters during the Rheumatology fellowship is provided by full-time members of the Division of Rheumatology. The education provided by our highly skilled faculty of clinician-educators is supplemented by regular involvement during conferences outside faculty and is supported by Henry Ford Health. The faculty members are geographically located at Henry Ford Hospital and outpatient clinics at satellite facilities.
