Overall Goals

  • To train residents in the osteopathic core competencies of: holistic patient care, medical knowledge, professionalism, empathy, interpersonal and communication skills, and practice-based learning and improvement.
  • To provide residents with a core knowledge and clinical understanding of pathology of the upper respiratory, olfactory, auditory and vestibular systems, as well as endocrinology and neurology as they relate to the head and neck.
  • To provide residents with graduated responsibility in the diagnosis, medical, and surgical treatment of disorders of the ears, upper respiratory systems and related structures of the head and neck.
  • To prepare residents for the independent practice of medicine and surgery at the completion of training.
