To train residents in the osteopathic core competencies of: holistic patient care, medical knowledge, professionalism, empathy, interpersonal and communication skills, and practice-based learning and improvement.
To provide residents with a core knowledge and clinical understanding of pathology of the upper respiratory, olfactory, auditory and vestibular systems, as well as endocrinology and neurology as they relate to the head and neck.
To provide residents with graduated responsibility in the diagnosis, medical, and surgical treatment of disorders of the ears, upper respiratory systems and related structures of the head and neck.
To prepare residents for the independent practice of medicine and surgery at the completion of training.
