Curriculum

The Podiatric curriculum is designed to provide comprehensive training rotations resulting in a high level of competency in Podiatric Surgery. The program provides technical and academic opportunities through challenging rotations and didactics.

Podiatric Medicine and Surgery 25 months
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Four weeks
Emergency Medicine Four weeks
General Surgery Four weeks
Radiology Two weeks
Internal Medicine Four weeks
Plastic Surgery Four weeks
Vascular Surgery Four weeks
Orthopedic Surgery Four weeks
Infectious Disease Four weeks
Pathology Two weeks
Psychology Two weeks
Anesthesia Two weeks
Rheumatology Two weeks
TOTAL 36 months

 

Clinical rotations are divided over the three year program as follows:

PGY 1

  • Podiatric Medicine and surgery - Seven months
  • Infectious Disease - One month
  • Anesthesia - Two weeks
  • Psychology - Two weeks
  • Radiology - Two weeks
  • Emergency Medicine - One month
  • Pathology - Two weeks
  • Internal Medicine - One month

PGY 2

  • Podiatric Medicine and Surgery - Eight months
  • Plastic Surgery - One month
  • Vascular Surgery - One month
  • General Surgery- One month
  • Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation - Two weeks
  • Rheumatology - Two weeks

PGY 3

  • Podiatric medicine and surgery - Nine months
  • Orthopedic Surgery - One month
  • Elective - Two months

  • Six scheduled lectures/months
  • Weekly textbook chapter review
  • Bimonthly journal club
  • Monthly cadaver lab
