Gwen Gnam M.S.N., R.N.
Gwen Gnam, M.S.N., R.N. has been a practicing nurse for more than 30 years and is currently the Chief Nursing Officer / Vice-President of Patient Care Services at Henry Ford Hospital, and the HFHS lead inpatient nurse for project Helios, our implementation of the latest Electronic Medical Recordkeeping technology. Her clinical practice expertise is in surgery, ambulatory care, critical care and administration.
In July of 2011, Gwen was promoted to her current position as CNO / VP of Patient Care Services. Gwen’s professional goals are to improve patient safety, customer satisfaction and employee engagement through standardization of work processes based on evidence based practices.
Gwen has held several key leadership positions in Nursing during her 25 years at Henry Ford Health System including:
- Surgical Services Administrator
- Administrator of Inpatient Nursing
- Nursing Administrator of Surgical Inpatient Units, Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Administrator of the Canton Medical Center
She has actively supported and participated in key quality projects at Henry Ford including surgical safety checklists, mortality reduction, tight glycemic control, development and implementation of the rapid response team, “No Harm” campaign, implementation of an ICU electronic medical record, and surgical process improvements to increase safety in the perioperative setting.
Mrs. Gnam holds a Master’s degree of Science in Nursing and Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Care Science. Gwen most recently graduated from Henry Ford Health System’s new Advanced Leadership Academy. She has presented training sessions at National Conferences including National Surgical Quality Improvement Program, American College of Surgeons, Catholic Healthcare and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
