Our team is comprised of researchers each of whom do their part to ensure excellence in research.
The goal of the Henry Ford Health Public Health Sciences Internship Program is to attract, develop, and retain a diverse pool of potential future members of our team as well as provide valuable real-world experience through Henry Ford Health’s highly reputable research institute. We seek energetic, independent learners who are interested in pursuing a career in public health research.
Each intern is assigned to a preceptor in one of our core section areas. Each of the preceptors values the opportunity to mentor an intern and demonstrates this through the time and energy they dedicate to holding one-on-one meetings with the intern, seeking candid input from the intern, guiding the intern through his/her learning experiences, providing feedback, and helping the intern network with other members in the department. Andrea Cassidy-Bushrow, PhDWith research interests centering on the developmental origins of disease framework, her research focus has been on early life health. Recently, Dr. Cassidy-Bushrow explored the psycho-biological determinants of birth outcomes in a study of African-American parturient women. Moving forward through the life-course, she has also studied the impact of stress and inflammation on adolescent cardiovascular disease risk factors in a study of racially diverse teens.. |

Christine Joseph, PhDHer research interests include racial/ethnic health disparities, adolescent health, asthma and allergic disease, adherence, and school-based health management. She has experience in the design and implementation of community-based and pragmatic clinical trials. |

Jia Li, PhDDr. Li specializes in statistical genetics and bioinformatics. Her interest is to develop rigorous statistical and computational methodologies to help understand disease mechanisms and improve disease diagnosis and treatment. |

Cathryn Peltz, PhDDr. Peltz has developed a strong background in orthopedic research, epidemiology and patient-centered outcomes research. She has worked in the Bone and Joint Center at Henry Ford Health conducting orthopedic research before joining the Henry Ford Health Department of Public Health Sciences to oversee the All of Us Research Program and focusing on precision medicine and patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR). |
