Ken Empey, J.D. Deputy General Council Henry Ford Central Market

Ken has served the health system since 1991 in a number of capacities, including General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer for Henry Ford Jackson Hospital and affiliated entities comprising the Henry Ford Jackson Hospital system, Director of Risk Management, Vice President for Legal Affairs, Quality & Risk Management, and Corporate Compliance Officer.

Following the affiliation with Henry Ford Health in 2016, Ken transitioned to the HFH Office of General Counsel (OGC), assuming the Deputy General Counsel role for Central Market. Ken has practiced in the healthcare field exclusively since 1984. Prior to starting his “in-house” role in 1989, he worked in private practice with a large healthcare law firm in Detroit, representing healthcare systems, hospitals and individual practitioners. Ken is a 1984 cum laude graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
