Kidney Dialysis Program
Healthy kidneys filter the blood to remove wastes and extra fluids, balance the body’s salt levels, regulate blood pressure, keep bones healthy and help make red blood cells. Kidney (or renal) failure occurs when a person’s kidneys are unable to take care of the body’s needs—due to diabetes, high blood pressure, infection, injury or other causes. Kidney failure requires a life-saving treatment called dialysis, which cleans the blood to remove toxins and extra fluid and keeps the body in balance. Dialysis cannot cure kidney failure, but it can help people to live longer and feel better.
Henry Ford Allegiance Specialty Hospital meets the individual needs of patients with kidney failure by providing dialysis services on either a temporary or permanent basis.
