Team Approach

Learn more about the individual members that make up our comprehensive care team.

Physicians

Physicians are responsible for planning patients’ treatment, care and rehabilitation according to their individual medical needs.

Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants

Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants assist the physicians and the rest of the team in determining the best treatment plan for each patient. They also assist in managing patient care to meet the patient’s individual needs and goals.

Nurses

Nurses provide 24-hour patient care, help shape treatment plans and assess patient progress. Henry Ford Allegiance Specialty Hospital nurses have the compassion and skills needed to help patients and families adjust both physically and emotionally to their illness or disease process.

Admissions Liaisons

Admissions Liaisons are caring team members and are often the first Henry Ford Allegiance Specialty Hospital representative a patient will meet. They visit patients at home or in the hospital to help them know what to expect during their hospital stay.

Registered Dietitians

When each patient arrives at Henry Ford Allegiance Specialty Hospital, one of our Registered Dietitians evaluates his or her nutritional needs and makes appropriate dietary recommendations. They are also available for dietary consultations with patients and family members throughout the patient’s stay.

Respiratory Therapists

Respiratory Therapists maximize the patient’s ability to breathe comfortably as well as provide respiratory support through nebulized medications, non-invasive ventilation or invasive ventilation care.

Pharmacists

Pharmacists oversee patient medications. They also educate patients and their families about any possible side effects or drug interactions related to discharge medications.

Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists

Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists help patients improve their ability to perform normal daily activities within the limitations of their medical condition.

Wound Care Team

In addition to evaluating and treating the patient’s wounds, these team members teach patients and family members how to properly clean, treat and dress the wounds to promote healing.

Pastoral Care Team

Members of our Pastoral Care team provide spiritual support for patients and family members at the patient’s request.

Case Managers

Case Managers are a primary link between the patient and the care team. They make sure the patient’s needs are being met and help make the discharge process and return home as smooth as possible for patients and their families.
