As Chief Quality Officer, Ed Pollak, MD, FASA CPPS is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership and oversight for quality, safety and reliability programs and initiatives, including quality assurance, performance improvement, regulatory, compliance and risk for the Henry Ford Hospital (HFH) Campus. He also serves as the Chief Medical Officer-Associate alongside Drs. Ilan Rubinfeld and Amy Engelhardt.

Dr. Pollak is an anesthesiologist and a physician leader with a nationally recognized track record of measurable accomplishments and expertise in process improvement, patient safety and high reliability. His leadership skills are demonstrated by building highly effective teams who implement solutions to the most challenging problems.

Most recently the Patient Safety Officer and Medical Director with The Joint Commission, Dr. Pollak worked with national leaders of health systems and professional organizations to improve serious safety and quality issues. In addition, he has nearly 20 years of experience in a variety of roles, including Patient Safety Officer, Vice Chief of Anesthesiology and anesthesiologist at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI, attending anesthesiologist at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Macomb, MI and senior staff anesthesiologist at HFH.

Dr. Pollak earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan, a Master of Arts in Philosophy from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania.
