DETROIT – Henry Ford Hospital has been selected as one of the nation’s most preferred hospitals for overall quality and image.
The 802-bed hospital was named the “Consumer Choice Award” winner for Wayne County by the National Research Corporation (NRC) of Lincoln, Neb., a health care research company.
“Having received his award for the sixth year in a row is not only an honor, but an acknowledgement by consumers of the quality we provide for them each and every day,” says Henry Ford Hospital President and CEO John Popovich Jr., M.D.
Each year, NRC identifies hospitals in more than 300 markets throughout the U.S. that health care consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image.
“The Consumer Choice Award provides a benchmark for consumers to show how important quality health care is to them and to their families,” says Susan L. Henricks, president at NRC. “The Consumer Choice Award recognizes those facilities that are meeting or exceeding the needs of consumers – their patients.”
Winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected by the company. The study surveys more than 250,000 households representing more than 450,000 consumers in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia.
