Home Dialysis Training Facility Opens in Novi

February 06, 2013

BINGHAM FARMS, Mich. – Western Regional Home Dialysis, a new home-dialysis facility for patients with kidney failure, has opened in Novi.

Dialysis is the only treatment option available, other than a transplant, for patients with kidney failure. Many patients often prefer to receive dialysis at home because of its improved physical and emotional outcomes.

"Patients on home dialysis treatments typically report feeling healthier, more energetic and happier than patients who receive care at a dialysis center," says Hassan Fehmi, M.D., medical director of Western Regional Home Dialysis.

"Opening this facility makes it possible for even more patients to receive dialysis from the comfort of home," added Dr. Fehmi.

Greenfield Health Systems, a division of Henry Ford Health System, owns and operates the new facility, the company’s second home-only dialysis facility in metro Detroit that trains patients to do their own dialysis at home.

Greenfield has been providing managerial, consulting and dialysis expertise for more than 30 years to institutions and hospitals in metro Detroit and Toledo.

With 16 facilities, Greenfield is consistently ranked among the top renal care providers in patient satisfaction for treating dialysis-related illness.

Western Regional Home Dialysis is located in the Medical Arts Building, 39525 W. 14 Mile Rd. in Novi.
