Congressman John Dingell recently visited the Wyandotte Clinic for the Working Uninsured to discuss with patients, employees and volunteers the benefits of the Affordable Care Act and the millions of people who will now be eligible for health insurance come January.
The clinic opened in 2005. It is volunteer-run clinic providing primary care office visits, including diabetes and hypertension management; Well Woman checkups, including Pap tests and breast exams/mammography; podiatric services, nutritional counseling for diabetes, hypertension and weight loss, and work physicals and referrals.
In 2012, the clinic handled 2,300 patient visits. Daniel Sylvester, a long-time patient at the Clinic, told Congressman. Dingell, “The clinic has been my friend for eight years.”
