Sandcastles Grief Support Program Needs Volunteers

SandCastles, a part of Henry Ford Hospice is seeking adults with a passion for helping young people, to serve as volunteers for its grief support program for children and teens.  A variety of volunteer opportunities are available including facilitating children’s support group meetings, serving as a program aide, assisting in the office and more.

Volunteers are instrumental in helping children, teens and families journey through their grief following the death of a loved one.

SandCastles is committed to providing quality bereavement services to all children and families needing their support. The program is available at no cost to families.

As a nonprofit organization, SandCastles relies heavily on volunteers to offer the grief support services needed by families year-round.

Individuals interested in learning more about SandCastles and how to help grieving children are invited to attend one of the upcoming volunteer orientation programs.

Orientation for the St. Clair Shores SandCastles Support Group will be held at the following locations:

Henry Ford Hospice, 33464 Schoenherr, Suite 140, Sterling Heights, MI 48321
6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1  

MISD 44001 Garfield Road, Rm 205, Clinton Township, MI 48038
6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8 

Training sessions which will be held later in the month will provide volunteers the tools they need to facilitate support groups.
