July 25, 2017

Henry Ford Health Center- Brownstown is a beautiful, peaceful place where people come for care, but for the third year in a row the grounds of the medical campus will light up with sounds of laughter and fun, when hundreds of visitors attend the Brownstown Family Fair.

A partnership between Henry Ford Health System and the Brownstown Downtown Development Authority, the 2017 fair comes to Henry Ford Health Center-Brownstown, 23050 West Road, Saturday, Aug. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The fair will be full of sights and sounds such as a medical helicopter whirring, Brownstown police officers and firefighters saying hello and health care providers answering questions and offering free health screenings. Therapy dogs, ponies and a petting zoo will also greet guests.

Overall, the Brownstown Family Fair is fun wrapped around access to health, wellness information and professionals to help keep families safe, strong and healthy.

“The Brownstown Family Fair is aligned with our mission to improve people’s lives through our services at HFHC-Brownstown including a 24/7 emergency room, same day surgery, allergy, women’s health,  pain management, family medicine, pharmacy, lab, sleep studies and so much more,” says Tracy Garland, administrator for Henry Ford Health Center Brownstown.

“As we prepare for the third fair, we’ve seen so many benefits – from visitors learning their blood pressure was dangerously high or that they should talk to a doctor about their cholesterol to witnessing a true community feeling,” says Garland.

Freebies include a backpack and bicycle helmet giveaway while supplies last, lunch, face painting and more.

In addition, officials from the Law Enforcement Education Program will provide a CD to parents loaded with child identification information to be used by law enforcement should a child go missing or becomes lost.
