DETROIT - SandCastles, is seeking compassionate adult volunteers to provide support to children and teens grieving from the loss of a loved one. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available including facilitating children’s support group meetings, serving as a program aide, assisting in the office and more.
Volunteers help nurture and provide strength to children, teens and families during their time of grieving.
For 20-years, SandCastles, a nonprofit organization has provided quality bereavement services to all children and families needing their support. The program is available to families at no charge.
SandCastles relies heavily on volunteers to offer families grief support year-round.
Individuals interested in learning more about SandCastles and how to help grieving children are invited to attend an upcoming volunteer orientation at one of the following locations:
Henry Ford Health System, 1 Ford Place Suite 4A, Detroit, MI 48202
6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3
First Congregational Church of Wyandotte, 98 Superior Blvd Wyandotte, MI 48192
6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11
Training sessions which will be held later in the month.
