July 16, 2018

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township is recognized in the July 2018 issue of Consumer Reports as a top heart hospital. Hospitals listed in the magazine performed well in both heart bypass and aortic valve replacement, in terms of complications, mortality and other factors.

“We’re excited to again be nationally recognized for our program,” said Steven Harrington, M.D., medical director of cardiothoracic surgery at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. “The advanced technology available to our highly skilled team helps us to achieve superior outcomes on behalf of our patients.”

Henry Ford Macomb Hospital was the only Michigan hospital listed in the magazine and one of only 12 in the Midwest region out of more than 400 hospitals nationwide who share their data with the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. This is one of multiple awards for the hospital’s cardiology program.

The hospital offers one of the nation’s largest cardiac robotic surgery programs.

“Using the latest in surgical innovations, we are able to lead the way in cardiothoracic care across our region,” noted Raed Alnajjar, M.D., cardiothoracic surgeon. “We’re proud to share our best practices with other health systems in Michigan and throughout the country.”
