Making a Difference In Your Vision & Safety

The health and wellbeing of our community and team members is our highest priority. As a precautionary measure, we will begin to only provide services to critical infrastructure workers and those in need of urgent/medical eyecare services. As part of the Henry Ford Health System, Henry Ford OptimEyes will do our part to service patients in order to keep the emergency rooms available for other medical issues.

Urgent/medical conditions include the following:

  • Superficial foreign bodies
  • Minor injuries – scratches and abrasions
  • Vision loss
  • Acute red, painful eye
  • Flashes and floaters
  • Eye infections associated with contact lens wear
  • Lost or broken glasses
  • Contact lens replacement

Critical infrastructure workers include;

  • Health care and public health.
  • Law enforcement, public safety, and first responders.
  • Food and agriculture.
  • Energy.
  • Water and wastewater.
  • Transportation and logistics.
  • Public works.
  • Communications and information technology, including news media.
  • Other community-based government operations and essential functions.

Due to the resurgence of COVID 19, Henry Ford OptimEys is only providing  services to critical infrastructure workers and those in need of urgent/medical eyecare services in select locations to help keep patients out of urgent care and emergency rooms.

We are unable to sell eyeglasses, eyeglass cleaner, accessories or adjust glasses inside our offices for noncritical infrastructure workers. These services are not considered essential need.  Contact lenses are available for purchase online. We will continue to monitor guidance from health agencies and will open all of our offices when it is safe to do so.
