William Harmon, OD

Dr. Harmon is a long-term resident of Detroit. He attended Clemson University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences, and the Michigan College of Optometry. He is a member of the American and Michigan Optometric Associations (MOA). He served as the MOA representative to Medicare for 5 years after which he joined the board of the MOA as a trustee and later became President of the MOA 2020/2021. He has also obtained Diplomate status through the American Board of Optometry board certification program.

Dr. Harmon’s career has been varied from practicing with an ophthalmological group to working with various national insurance carriers developing and promoting programs that encourage patients with diabetes to receive the care and laboratory testing necessary to remain healthy and decrease complications.

In his free time, he supports his daughter’s interest in soccer and swimming. He also enjoys sailing with his family on Lake St. Clair.
