We Make It Easy to Get the Care You Need, When You Need It

Find your doctor

Having a relationship with a primary care doctor is important. Getting your care from Henry Ford revolves around one person: you. When you choose a Henry Ford primary care doctor, you’re also choosing the Henry Ford network of specialists for your care.

How to pick a Primary Care Doctor

  1. Do some research on your options.
  2. Choose a primary care doctor who’s right for you.
  3. Log in to your hap.org member account to confirm your primary care doctor selection.

How to make the right choice

When you need medical care now, knowing where to go can save you time and money. High-tech, busy emergency rooms are not the best place to go for minor medical concerns like sinusitis, earache or fever. You may wait longer for care in an emergency room, and your out-of-pocket costs are high.

Need medical care during clinic hours, but safe to wait?

Call or see your doctor for same-day care (least out-of-pocket cost) for things like:

  • Sinusitis
  • Mild back pain
  • Earache

Need non-emergency medical care today after hours or on the weekend?

Visit a Walk-In Clinic (least out-of-pocket cost) or Urgent Care Center (higher out-of-pocket cost) for things like:

  • Fever
  • Minor cuts
  • Sprains/strains

Need emergency care now?

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room (highest out-of-pocket cost) for things like:

  • Chest pain/shortness of breath
  • Numbness, weakness, loss of vision
  • Uncontrolled bleeding
  • Severe burns
