About Me
I am a physician board certified in family medicine. I practiced family medicine for 14 years before serving in a variety of administrative leadership roles within the health system, including Chief of the Medical Staff and Medical Director for Independent Hospitalist Physicians. I am currently the Medical Director for Hospice Services and the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home, which I find very rewarding.
My clinical focus is on hospice care, which offers physical comfort, compassion, dignity and emotional support for individuals who have a life-limiting illness, with a life expectancy of six months or less. Hospice care becomes available immediately after the patient’s treatment has stopped because it is no longer possible to cure or delay the process of the disease. It can also begin when a patient chooses not to undergo further treatment. Hospice services can be provided where the patient lives, in a hospital or long-term care facility, or in a hospice residence.
Philosophy
I am proud to lead a team of compassionate and capable professionals, as we care for patients and their families during a deeply personal time. Our goal is to help patients live fully until the end of life and to make their end-of-life experience as comfortable, dignified and meaningful as possible. By lifting some of the responsibility of care from family members, we allow them to more fully enjoy the time they have with their loved one.
