About Me

Biographical Statement:
I have worked at Henry Ford Health System for over 25 years and am currently the Study Management Division Head in the Department of Public Health Sciences (PHS), where I coordinate and conduct population science research. Credentialed as both a Registered Health Information Technician and a Certified Tumor Registrar, I bring expertise regarding the administrative health care data resources that support much of the research conducted within Henry Ford Health. I have been involved in a wide range of outcomes research in the areas of infectious diseases, cancer, diabetes, asthma and liver disease, funded by both government and industry.
I am the Henry Ford Health site Principal Investigator for annual CDC-funded influenza surveillance/vaccine effectiveness studies involving both inpatient and ambulatory care patients. I have been involved with the Prostate, Lung. Colorectal and Ovarian (PLCO) Cancer Screening Trial over the duration of the study and serve as Principal Investigator during the current phase of long-term follow-up of study subjects. I was the Chair of the PLCO Methods Subcommittee where many publications regarding trial operations originated. I am active in medical education through both resident and fellow research study support and in teaching a population science curriculum in the Family Medicine Residency.
