Public Health Sciences
Dr. Edward Peterson, a Biostatistician, is the Division Head of Core Services in the Department of Public Health Sciences. He was one of the founders of the department and is a past chairman. Dr. Peterson has worked with fellow Center for Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Research (CAAIR) members, Dr. Christine Johnson and Dr. Dennis Ownby, since the onset of the Childhood Asthma Study (CAS), and was the key biostatistician on WHEALS. He has been a co-investigator on several CAAIR-related grants, including Dr. Edward Zoratti’s follow-up study to CAS (CAS II) and Dr. Dennis Ownby’s ‘Endotoxin Exposure Alters Anti-Tetanus IgE in Infants’ investigation. Dr. Peterson is also the Biostatistics Core Principal Investigator for the MAAP study. He has been with the Department for over 25 years and has worked with nearly every department in the hospital.
