Avocado Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1/3 cup reduced-fat sour cream
  • 2 ounces (4 tablespoons) reduced-fat cream cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 2 tablespoon snipped cilantro (optional garnish)

Instructions

Place avocados, lime juice, sour cream, cream cheese, and garlic in a food processor or blender and process until smooth. Place in a bowl and season with salt. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving, allowing flavors to blend. To serve, make a small well in the center of the dip and add salsa. Garnish with cilantro if desired.

Cook's Note: A new twist on guacamole, serve this dip with whole-wheat pita bread, fresh vegetables, or baked tortilla chips.
