Detroit Style Sauteed Carrots

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds carrots, scrubbed, trimmed and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1/3 cup Vernors
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet, add sliced carrots and seasonings, sauté 5-10 minutes or until just softened.
  2. Add Vernors to the pan and cover. Steam over medium high heat until desired tenderness, another 5-10 minutes.
  3. Remove cover and increase heat to high to evaporate most of the liquid.
