Recognized for excellent cancer care
Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award
Henry Ford Cancer Institute is the only cancer institute in Michigan to be awarded the 2019 Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer (CoC). This award recognizes cancer programs that achieve excellence in compliance with CoC standards and provide the highest quality care to cancer patients. We are among a select few nationally to receive the honor for two consecutive survey cycles. We are accredited as an integrated network at all of our treatment facilities for demonstrating integration and superior quality among many aligned hospitals and outpatient facilities.
National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancers (NAPBC)
The Henry Ford Breast Cancer Center received full, three-year accreditation at all of our facilities — Clinton Township, Detroit, Jackson, West Bloomfield and Wyandotte — from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancers (NAPBC). This means we are held to the highest standards of care for patients with diseases of the breast. The NAPBC provides the most efficient and contemporary breast care using scientific evidence about what works best for patients and monitors compliance at each accredited breast cancer. This is administered by the American College of Surgeons, which for more than 100 years has led national and international initiates to improve quality in hospitals.
American College of Radiology
Henry Ford received full accreditation by the American College of Radiology (ACR) for radiation oncology services across multiple treatment locations. ACR Accreditation is recognized as the gold standard in medical imaging. We earned it by providing the safest and best quality care possible.
