Community Acupuncture

Community acupunctureCommunity acupuncture is a nationwide movement to create access to acupuncture by reducing the barrier of cost from healing. Patients are surrounded by a maximum of four others who are quietly receiving treatment at the same time. This experience is viewed as an opportunity to undergo treatment with family, friends, and the community.

There are many benefits of receiving acupuncture in a community setting. One benefit in particular is that the shared state can create an atmosphere of mutual support and comfort. Everyone receiving treatment is seated in a reclining chair while the acupuncturist uses points on the scalp, ears, and below the elbows and knees to treat the entire body -- so there’s no need to undress – just remove your shoes and roll up your pants and sleeves.

An initial community acupuncture session is 45 minutes to an hour, and follow-ups are 30 to 45 minutes.
