Meditation Classes

guided meditation classMeditation is a mindfulness exercise that focuses on the connections between the mind, body and behavior. While meditating, you focus your attention and energy on positive visualizations and controlled breathing, which increases calmness and relaxation. Meditation has been around for centuries and has been shown to provide many health benefits when practiced regularly.

Benefits of meditation

Meditation, also known as mindfulness, is a method of self-care that allows us to reflect on our own mental and spiritual well-being. It is a great way to help address symptoms of a busy, overly stressed life, such as worry, anxiety, pain, and sleep issues.

Meditation helps to free the mind from life’s distractions and still racing thoughts. Through the discipline of meditation, we learn to concentrate within, discover our center, and experience wellness, joy and peace. Whether you want to address symptoms of chronic health conditions or negative emotions, meditation can help.

Meditation can help manage a range of conditions, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Symptoms of cancer treatment
  • Chronic pain
  • Depression
  • High blood pressure
  • Insomnia
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Menopause symptoms
  • Smoking cessation

How meditation works

The instructor will guide you through a meditation session, offering verbal cues to help quiet your mind and connect you with your body. You will focus on your breathing and senses. Most people leave a meditation session energized, with a feeling of calm serenity. Our expert can talk to you about your health goals and help build a personalized approach to mindfulness meditation.
