What is a hold? How do I place a hold on library materials?
A hold is used to flag library materials that are currently checked out. When an item is returned or up for renewal, the library's computer system will alert staff that an item has a hold placed on it by other another user. The item will be set aside for the user who placed the hold.
Contact library staff at the Information Desk if you wish to place a hold on library materials that are checked out.
What happens if I don't return library materials?
If you do not return your library materials, you will receive overdue notices. If the item is not returned after two overdue notices, your borrowing privileges will be suspended until the item is returned.
In cases where the item has been lost or damaged, you are responsible for the cost of item. Once the item is returned, or paid for, your borrowing privileges will be re-instated.

How do I find out what the Sladen Library owns?
You can search our online catalog. Feel free to contact library staff to inquire about an item.
If something you need is not owned by the library, you can use ILLiad to request the item from another library. There is a small fee for placing ILLiad requests.
