Cosmetic Acupuncture and Microneedling

Cosmetic acupuncture and microneedling are integrative therapies that offer many potential cosmetic and wellness benefits.

Cosmetic acupuncture, also known as facial acupuncture, is a procedure used to improve skin health and reduce the signs of agi.ng. It is a type of acupuncture and a natural approach to facial rejuvenation that does not involve surgeries or chemicals. Cosmetic acupuncture involves using very thin needles to stimulate select points, especially around the face and neck. It may be used alongside microneedling, dermal rolling, facial gua sha and facial cupping in order to receive your desired results.

Microneedling is a similar cosmetic procedure that involves using fine needles to create tiny punctures in the skin, triggering the body's natural healing process and boosting collagen.

Benefits of cosmetic acupuncture and microneedling

Cosmetic acupuncture offers a range of potential benefits for skin health and appearance, including reduced wrinkles, improved skin tone and enhanced facial radiance. It can also promote overall well-being by addressing underlying imbalances in the body. The effects can smooth wrinkles and fine lines, lighten dark spots and minimize other skin blemishes, leading to a more youthful appearance.

Microneedling has similar benefits, effectively treating fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, improving skin texture and color and dramatically enhancing effectiveness of skincare products. Visible results can begin on the first day and last over time. As collagen levels continue to build up, your skin becomes more luminous and your complexion more even.

  • Why Should I Choose Henry Ford Health for Cosmetic Acupuncture and Microneedling?

Cosmetic acupuncture and microneedling should be delivered by a properly trained and credentialed provider. At Henry Ford Health, these are administered by our nationally board-certified acupuncturists, who are licensed with the State of Michigan, and who have advanced clinical training in these procedures. Your treatments will also be a part of your medical record, so that all members of your care team have access to your medical history.

    Advanced training

Acupuncturists are highly trained medical professionals who must obtain at least a clinical master’s degree, pass national board examinations and become licensed by the state. Like physicians, nurses and other clinicians, they must maintain their licensure and board credentials with continuing education.

Henry Ford Health acupuncturists exceed these requirements. Our team members have added training and certifications, such as oncology, sports medicine, addiction and Chinese Herbal Medicine. Our team also includes some of the state’s only acupuncturists with doctoral degrees, including the DAOM (Doctor of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine), the most advanced degree available.
