The Henry Ford Health C.A.R.E. Program, iCare4U Employee Resource Group, and content experts from the Alzheimer’s Association of Michigan are offering virtual education topics designed to provide caregivers, families, health professionals and the general community with valuable information about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

The holidays are often filled with opportunities for togetherness, sharing, laughter and memories. But they can also bring stress, disappointment, and sadness. This program shares many tips for caregivers to help navigate the holidays.

1/13/25 Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body
Learn what research has shown about lifestyle choices that may help keep your brain and body healthy as you age. Hear practical ways you can incorporate changes into a plan for healthy aging.

2/10/25 Supporting Independence
Learn how to best help the person living with dementia take part in daily activities, how to provide the right amount of support and balance safety and independence while managing expectations.

3/10/24 Communicating Effectively
Learn how dementia affects communication, including tips for communicating well with family, friends and health care professionals.

4/14/25 Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors
Learn about common behavior changes, how to use non-medical approaches to address these behaviors and how to recognize when additional help is needed.

5/12/25 Dementia Conversations: Driving, Doctor Visits, Legal and Financial Planning
Learn to have honest and caring conversations about common concerns when someone begins to show signs of dementia.

6/9/25 Living with Alzheimer’s- Younger Onset
When someone under 65 is diagnosed with Younger-Onset Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia, the first reaction is often shock or denial. Learn answers to the questions that arise for people concerned about Younger-Onset Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.
