A. Department resources: dietetic interns have access to our employee resources.

The Department purchases various textbooks, computer programs, newsletters and journals for the use of its staff and students. Dietetic Interns may use any current computer systems available to the department.

B. Sladen library

The Sladen Library serves as Henry Ford Health's gateway to over 4,500 electronic journals, more than 3,600 electronic books, and an array of databases that support the teaching, research, and clinical practice missions of the health system.

The Sladen Library, on the seventeenth floor of the Clinic building, has a book collection, journal subscriptions, and databases available.

Interns may borrow from the library, make requests for interlibrary loan material, and use the current computerized listings to access materials. Interns also may use the library copying machine, without charge, to make single copies of library materials.

C. Audiovisual equipment

Audio visual equipment is available for use from Medical Education.

D. Copy machines

Copy machines and scanners are available for intern's professional use.

It is expected that the intern will be moderate in her/his use of copying privileges.

H. Simulation Center- Center for Simulation, Education & Research | Henry Ford Health - Detroit, MI

The 12,000-square-foot Center for Simulation, Education and Research at Henry Ford Hospital gives our professionals the ability to practice new approaches to health care and refine their clinical skills using state-of-the-art simulations in a risk-free environment.

Available services

A. Meals

Interns will be provided a meal card for a set amount for the hospital cafeteria for scheduled days of experience Microwave ovens and vending machines are available in the employees' cafeteria and in the basement of the hospital.

B. Lockers

Interns will have their designated locker located outside the Internship Director’s Office. However, it is not advisable to leave expensive items, credit cards, or money in your locker. It is also not wise to carry large amounts of cash on your person

C. Banking services-ATM Machines are located on the first floor in the East Lobby Area.

D. LiveWell Shoppe/newspapers/postal service/photographic service.

The gift shop sells a variety of items: gifts, greeting cards, gift wrap, stationery, paperback books, children's games, snack foods, both artificial and real flowers, plants, jewelry, and miscellaneous toiletries
