Developing Tomorrow’s Clinical Pharmacists Through Excellence in Patient Care, Education, and Innovation

The Henry Ford Health Rochester Hospital PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program is designed to develop confident, clinically proficient, and well-rounded pharmacists prepared to deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care across diverse healthcare settings. Our institution is a 290-bed community teaching hospital within Henry Ford Health with a Level III Adult Trauma Center and comprehensive stroke center. Prospective residents can capitalize on diverse clinical exposures spanning across the continuum of care including emergency medicine, critical care, stroke/neurosurgical care, surgery, oncology, and behavioral health. Pharmacists participate actively in medical emergencies and code stroke responses. Through comprehensive clinical experiences, individualized mentorship, interdisciplinary collaboration, and opportunities in research, leadership, and education, the program supports professional growth and progressively independent clinical decision-making.

As a newly established program, residents may have opportunities to help shape residency initiatives, advance clinical practice, and contribute to departmental improvement efforts.
