MFM Fellow Core Lecture Series
Weekly Structured didactic series covering the full ABOG MFM Guide to Learning, led by MFM faculty and guest specialists. Topics span maternal physiology, pharmacology, fetal therapy, and evidence-based obstetric management.
Journal Club Monthly Case-based review of prenatal imaging studies, including fetal anomalies, growth abnormalities, and Doppler assessment, along with discussion of pertinent ultrasound topics. Fellows present challenging or instructive cases for group discussion with faculty guidance. Sonographers attend alongside MFM faculty and fellows, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Genetics / Genomics Case Conference Quarterly Critical appraisal of recent landmark and high-impact publications in maternal-fetal medicine. Fellows lead discussions on study design, methodology, clinical applicability, and implications for practice.
Focused multidisciplinary review of complex prenatal genetics cases, held in conjunction with genetic counselors and medical geneticists. Covers chromosomal abnormalities, single-gene disorders, genomic microarray interpretation, and counseling strategies.
Perinatal Care Conference Monthly Multidisciplinary conference bringing together MFM, neonatology, nursing, and pediatric subspecialists such as cardiology to review current cases and discuss coordinated management plans. Ultrasound images are reviewed during the conference to guide diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making.
Maternal Critical Care Conference Monthly Review of current cases involving complex maternal conditions such as cardiac, pulmonary, and hematologic disorders. Attended by specialists from cardiology, hematology, anesthesiology, and nursing, this conference provides coordinated multidisciplinary care planning for our highest-risk patients.
OB/GYN Grand Rounds Monthly Department-wide conference featuring presentations by faculty, visiting scholars, and fellows on current topics in obstetrics, gynecology, and women’s health. Provides broad exposure to advances across the specialty.
Research Forum & Thesis Progress Review Monthly Dedicated session for fellows to present ongoing research, receive faculty and peer feedback, troubleshoot methodological challenges, and track progress toward thesis completion and defense.
