Volunteer at Henry Ford St. John Hospital
You can make a difference
Our volunteers have the opportunity to learn, explore health careers, develop new skills, and most of all enjoy the satisfaction that comes from helping others.
Who are our volunteers?
Our volunteer family is a unique blend of community members. They include teens, college students, professionals, retirees, individuals looking for a career change, and people with time to give.
What do they do?
Some of the important things they do are: greet our guests with a smile and escort them to their destination, work in our gift shop, get a blanket for a patient who is feeling cold, conduct pet therapy visits, and support our staff by performing various clerical duties. We have many volunteer opportunities at Henry Ford St. John Hospital.
When do they volunteer?
Volunteers can work any time of the day or night, any day of the week, depending on hospital needs and volunteer qualifications. The Volunteer Services Department asks that volunteers commit at least four hours a week over a period of six months, totaling 100 hours of service. However, many eagerly volunteer much more because they love what they do and they love the people. We look forward to having you volunteer with us!
Volunteers must be 16+ years of age. High school volunteers are permitted to volunteer only on weekdays before 8pm. No weekends are permitted
