Arti Bhan, MD

Biographical Statement

Dr. Arti Bhan is a board-certified endocrinologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid disorders, pituitary disease, diabetes and osteoporosis. She is dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care and believes in partnering closely with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that help them achieve their health goals.

Dr. Bhan earned her medical degree from Government Medical College in India. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Ascension St. John Hospital and Medical Center before pursuing a fellowship in endocrinology at Henry Ford Health. After joining the division of Endocrinology as senior staff physician in 2003, she advanced to become division head. She also serves as an associate professor in medicine at both Michigan State University and Wayne State University, where she is actively involved in teaching and mentoring.

A recognized leader in her field, Dr. Bhan has a particular interest in thyroid disease and trains endocrinology fellows in thyroid ultrasonography and ultrasound-guided thyroid biopsy techniques. As the Fred Whitehouse Chair in Endocrinology, she mentors early-career physicians in both their clinical and research development.

In addition to her clinical and educational responsibilities, Dr. Bhan is actively engaged in research and serves as an investigator on numerous clinical trials, including National Institutes of Health-funded studies. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals, and she further contributes to the advancement of the field by serving on journal review committees and editorial boards.

Dr. Bhan has been elected a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and has been recognized as a Top Doc by HOUR Detroit magazine. Through her leadership, research, teaching and patient care, she remains committed to advancing endocrine medicine and improving outcomes for patients with complex endocrine disorders.
