My brand of 'Dr. Fiona, Pediatrics' starts and ends with rapport. Getting to know you and your family is what I love the most and what has taught me the most over the course of my career.
After majoring in French at the University of Michigan, I decided to pursue a master's in hospital administration. I discovered my passion for pediatrics while working as a pediatric urology secretary-receptionist at Children’s Hospital in Detroit. The reports I read were fascinating and the residents, who would eventually become my friends, inspired me daily.
Fast forward to the present and I now have 18 years of pediatric clinical practice in addition to my 17 years in the trenches raising a daughter and two sons (17, 14 and 12, respectively). I frequently remind my patients’ families that parenthood is a lesson in patience, persistence and faith, and that I am here to help.
I am committed to providing the highest quality healthcare for newborns, children and adolescents, but in a less traditional way. I am lighthearted and bring laughter and fun into my practice. While explaining diagnoses to my patients, I often draw pictures to help my patients understand. My favorite saying is, 'A man or woman has truly met success when, whether they are working or playing, they don't know the difference.' Pediatrics is my passion: my work and my play. I aim to make every child and parent feel like a valued participant in the care I provide. I would be honored to be your child's pediatrician.
