Biographical Statement

As a family nurse practitioner, I enjoy getting to know my patients and working with them to make their care a priority. I enjoy working as a team to improve the health and well-being of patients. I believe that patients want to feel empowered by their physicians and it is my duty to be central to that process. It is important to stabilize and treat chronic conditions, but my favorite part of health care is preventive care and discussing that with patients. Everything that we do today affects our outcomes of tomorrow. I enjoy seeing patients across the lifespan from babies to older adults.

Some of my interests other than preventive health include women’s health and neurology. I worked as a registered nurse for five years on a neurovascular and orthopedic floor prior to becoming a nurse practitioner and spent a specialty rotation in a neuroscience center.

Family practice is rewarding each day. I am the teacher in how to navigate some of life’s biggest challenges while being present to celebrate some of life’s biggest joys as well.
