About Me
Biographical Statement
Dr. Howing was born and raised in central Michigan. She attended Michigan State University and received her undergraduate degree in Human Biology. Throughout her time at MSU, she volunteered with her local hospice agency, both in home and at the residential hospice facility. She then attended Michigan State University College of Human Medicine for medical school where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. She was elected to serve as Chief Resident. She then completed her graduate medical education at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine where she pursued a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Dr. Howing is passionate about providing high quality and evidenced based care to all patients with serious and life limiting illnesses. She values comprehensive care of not only the patients, but also their family members and loved ones, who are supporting the patients through their illness.
