Biographical Statement
Dr. Geoffrey Kahn is an epidemiologist at Henry Ford Health in the Center for Healthcare Improvement. He provides analytic support for a variety of research and population health initiatives aimed at improving behavioral health outcomes and serves as a statistician with the Michigan Spine Surgery Improvement Collaborative. He works collaboratively with clinicians and researchers at Henry Ford Health, MSU and elsewhere to advance evidence-based approaches to care.
Dr. Kahn earned his doctoral degree in public mental health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a master's degree in global epidemiology from the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health. He completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in health services research at Henry Ford Health before joining as an assistant scientist. His training combines epidemiology, biostatistics and health services research, providing a strong foundation for evaluating complex healthcare challenges and informing clinical and operational decision-making. He specializes in predictive modeling and causal inference from observational data.
Dr. Kahn values and enjoys collaboration and has contributed to multidisciplinary research programs focused on topics ranging from pediatric vaccines to suicide and substance use in adolescents to patient outcomes following surgery.
