Melissa P Nayak, MD

Biographical Statement

I specialize in Primary Care Sports Medicine (non-operative).

Dr. Nayak is senior staff physician in the Department of Orthopaedics, Division of Sports Medicine. She has taken care of athletes of all skill levels, provides non-operative Orthopaedic care, and is active in community outreach, having served at team physician at the high school and collegiate levels. Dr. Nayak is involved in the education of medical students, residents and primary care sports medicine fellows, and an active member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) and Wayne County Medical Society of Southeast Michigan. Dr. Nayak enjoys fitness, cooking, reading and traveling.

Care Philosophy

My goal is to use a comprehensive approach in helping patients achieve a safe return to activity, while empowering them with the knowledge to stay fit, healthy, and improve their overall well-being.
