About Me
Biographical Statement
I started my healthcare career in 2009 at The University of Michigan as a patient care technician, I worked closely with the physical therapy department and wound care. Mid 2010 I became part of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department as a Physical Therapy rehabilitation technician. Working closely with the therapists and their patients was something I enjoyed very much as I was able to make a difference in patient's lives. During this time, I returned to school and started taking general education classes at Washtenaw Community College with the goal of learning more about how the human body functions. I became an orthotics fitter in the summer of 2011. I received training and had my own clinic where I was able to fit people with a variety of braces, stock and custom, to help them lead a more comfortable life. This again was a very rewarding position and over the next few years I hoped to become a prosthetist but the demand for this was very low. I continued to work and transferred to Eastern Michigan University to complete my Undergraduate degree in Exercise Science.
After graduation I applied and was accepted to the Physician Assistant program at Eastern Michigan University, and I graduated in mid-2018. I applied for the position at Henry Ford Allegiance Neurosurgery that summer and after being credentialed started work November 16th, 2018. I very much enjoy working with the surgeons and staff, and I absolutely love being able to make a difference in patient's lives. People with brain or spinal injuries have a lot to go through and their challenges are not to be underestimated. My education in Neurosurgery combined with that of Exercise Science and the function of the muscular system has enabled me to be a well-rounded patient care provider. In 2021 I moved to Jackson permanently and I feel privileged to be a part of the community and to be able to make a difference. I am part of a team that works hard to make people's lives better, and I hope to continue to do so for many years to come.
